Nobody likes making swatches! But what if we turned things around? In this workshop, I invite you to look at swatching differently.

Bring your neglected yarns—the ones that don’t inspire you or the most fun ones from your stash. Have a pattern in mind that requires a swatch?

Use this class as the perfect time to make it. We’ll talk about the why and the how, and answer all your questions about the infamous gauge swatch process!

What you leave with: You will go home with the swatches you made.

Prerequisites

Knowing how to knit and purl stitches!

What is provided (for the duration of the workshop)
  • my swatch collection
  • some yarns and needles to play with during class
What to bring
  • A measuring tape
  • a notebook and pen
  • all the yarns you would like to swatch with and needles to do so (you can use the ones in class but won't be able to bring them home)

Claudia Joyal Laplante

Claudia is the creator behind CloTricots, a Montreal based french knitting tutorial website . With a background in musical theater and professional swing dance instruction, she shines in her ability to share her knowledge in a clear, simple and fun way. "Learning to knit, one stitch at a time" is easy with the right materials, a little patience and someone to guide you. Always on the hunt for the "why" and the "how", she helps you to overcome any challenge, big or small.
