In this workshop, discover the techniques of wet felting to sculpt miniature shapes out of wool. You will learn how to create a charming mushroom-shaped necklace by working with Merino wool to form the cap and stem.

You'll also explore tips for assembling and customizing your piece of jewellery. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a unique, lightweight, and soft creation, ready to wear or gift.

Key skills covered: introduction to wet felting, sculpting miniature wool shapes mushroom cap and stem, assembly techniques to create a finished wearable piece. You’re invited to bring your own colour or design ideas to personalize your mushroom.

What you leave with: Your creation - A felted wool mushroom necklace that you will have made yourself during the workshop.

What is provided (for the duration of the workshop)
  • Merino wool (various colours available)
  • 1 needle felting pad for dry work
  • 1 bubble mat for wet felting with water and soap
  • 1 wooden tool for holding felting needles
  • 2 felting needles
  • hot plate and pots for wet felting
  • natural soap, wire and chains for jewellery making
  • small accessories for assembly beads clasps etc.
  • basic tools scissors pliers etc.
What to bring
  • A towel or cloth to dry hands during wet felting
  • colour or design ideas to personalize your mushroom (optional but encouraged)
  • Enthusiasm and creativity!
  • if you have beads charms or other small accessories you’d like to include in your creation feel free to bring them.

Jeanne Létourneux

Jeanne Letourneux, jewelry artist, wields wool to sculpt lightweight and timeless pieces, evoking softness, romance, and poetry.

Nurtured in an artistic household, she delved into theater, fine arts, and sewing before embarking on journeys to distant lands, where she draws her inspiration.

In 2018, after the birth of her second child, Jeanne discovered her passion for wool felting. Self-taught, she merges her love for nature with her creations, offering jewelry that celebrates natural beauty.

Through her art, Jeanne shares her vision of co-creation, respect for nature, natural beauty, education, and well-being. Each creation is an ode to authenticity and the magic of nature.
