Ecoprinting on a recycled cotton apron with Marie-Eve Dion
Language: French
Difficulty: Beginner
Category: Dyes
In this workshop, you will learn how to print flowers, leaves, and other natural extracts directly onto fiber. It is an impressive process that is accessible to everyone. We will explore an introduction to natural dyeing, including fiber preparation, mordants, and tannins. You will learn which plants are best suited for botanical printing, such as flowers, leaves, stems, and roots. We will cover the basic techniques of ecoprinting like folding and steaming, as well as demonstrate the tataki-zome or hammering technique. During the workshop, we will create an apron using recycled cotton. A handout will be provided to each participant.
What you leave with: Your apron, documents and notes.
