In this workshop you will discover contemporary crochet tapestry and explore different creative techniques to make a richly textured wall hanging. You will create an 8" x 10" tapestry.

What you leave with: As this is a 3-hour workshop, you may not have enough time to fully complete your composition. For this reason, you will leave with the course notes, hooks, yarns, and wooden dowel so you can finish your artwork at home.

What is provided (for the duration of the workshop)

Gridded tapestry support, latch hook, punch needle, various yarns and fabrics, template, needles, towel, and wooden dowel.

What to bring

Bring scissors. Participants may also bring additional medium-weight yarns to try out colors or add specific textures to their composition.

Jessica Chicoine

Jessica Chicoine is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in the Laurentians. Trained in jewellery making and industrial design, she develops a distinct visual language through textiles, with crochet playing a central role. Her colourful works range from jewellery to wall pieces, exploring the formal and structural possibilities of crochet and various materials.
