Makeloo studio
Makeloo Studio is a fibre arts studio co-led by artists Marcelo Martins and Patrice Blachet, based in Lanaudière, Québec. Their yarn line, “De par chez nous”, is crafted from 100% Canadian wool sourced from local farms, and is certified by the Canadian Wool Collective and Produit du Québec.
Each skein is handspun and hand-dyed in small batches, with colours that tell everyday human stories rooted in place, heritage, and resilience.
Marcelo Martins also works in visual arts, fibre-based land art, and leads research on wool and textile culture in Québec and beyond, in collaboration with institutions such as TSA, IWTO, and CWC. He is active in sociocultural education through and about wool, bringing community and material culture into dialogue.
