Kole Peplinskie
Kole Peplinskie is an Anishinaabe Algonquin beader and textile artist with familial ties to Keboawek First Nation, currently living in Ottawa. They have been fortunate enough to have their beadwork shown in a few galleries, including their large mixed media and beaded piece titled “Grassroots” which was featured in Carleton University Art Gallery’s 2021 exhibition “Too be Continued: Queering the Archives”. Kole loves sharing their beading knowledge with others, especially to other Indigenous folks, as they believe beading is good medicine. They are excited to teach a basic flat-stitch beadwork workshop, where participants will learn the basic one-needle flat-stitch technique to make either a pin or a pair of earrings, all supplies will be provided!
