A weekend (3-day) pass to the festival is offered to participants taking a workshop. (limit one pass per person)


In this class, you’re going to learn how to make the brioche stitch, a technique that creates a lofty, double sided fabric. I will guide you step by step, from the very beginning. In the first part of the class, we’re gonna start with 1 color brioche, from the German cast on to an elastic bind off. In the second part, it’s time to 2 colors brioche and all the magic it can do.

What to bring

yarn - worsted weight yarn in two colours. needles - 3mm, 3,5mm and 4mm CIRCULAR (24" long) . Note that for the 2 colors brioche, only circular works.

Clara Quintela, aka Clara Beauty, is a Brazilian living in Canada since 2012. Journalist by trade. Fiber artist by nature. She currently studies at Concordia University, in the Fine Arts - Fibre and Material Practices program and teaches in her own studio Le Laboratoire Textile, in Montreal. Knitting addicted (of course!). Big fan of strong colors, top down seamless constructions, circular work, pointed metal needles, soft high quality yarn, socks and lace. Hand spinner night and day.
