Twist is growing a new project !
This agricultural laboratory is located at the entrance of the village of Saint-André-Avellin. This acreage is loaned to us to experiment in cultivating textile bre plants and dye plants such as ax, milkweed, goldenrod, indigo and several others. This plot will be in bloom during the festival and it has been decorated with an impressive work of art representing a giant sheep in “hugulkultur” created by Mélodie Coutou.
In the Summer of 2017 you will find 3 varieties of flax; Vesta, Calista and Mélina. You will also find tinctorial plants : Isatis tinctoria (Woad) and Anthemis tinctoria (Golden Marguerite).
You can access the site at anytime and it is situated at the southern entrance of the village of Saint-André-Avellin. (368, Route 321 N)
The flax harvested from this field will be used during our Autumn Retreat at Domaine Saint-Bernard October 27th to 29th where we will go through all the steps to prepare and transform this fibre from plant to yarn.
Thank you to Léane and Mario Marquis, for lending us this platform.
