1. Event Coordinator

Function

Both in the preparations and in the heat of the action, the event coordinator plays the role of being the link between internal and external resources, both human and technical, and is responsible for all tasks related to the follow-up of the implementation of the event. In close collaboration with senior management, artistic direction and operations management, you will need to take on the following tasks.

TASKS

Collaborate in all tasks related to the deployment of the event (promotion, organization, coordination)

Coordinate volunteer human resources

Coordinate site preparation and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors

Perform other duties related to the mandate and the deployment of the event.

Prerequisites

Have completed a full-time post-secondary education and plan to return to full-time studies in September 2018 (be enrolled in the following fields: Technical or university degree in the arts, communications, Event or administration, management of cultural organizations; textile construction; arts; events; translation; study in the field of information and communications technology or other related training. ) and be 30 years of age or younger.

Experience in event management

Know how to knit a scarf (an asset)

Availability for full-time work (35 hours per week x 16 weeks) between May 7and August 24, 2017

Hourly rate of $ 15.00 per hour

Teamwork, autonomy and ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances and work under pressure;

Communication and negotiation skills;

Have a valid driver’s license

Have a computer

Knowledge of the Office suite, WordPress and social media apps

Good level of French and English both oral and written.

 

2. Art Director Assistant 

Function

Assist the Artistic Director in setting up festival workshops and site layout.

Tasks

• Correction and translation of texts (course notes, publications, etc …)

• Evaluate and satisfy the needs of each teacher and person in charge of the places borrowed. (The workshops take place on 4 different sites during the week)

• Coordinate site preparation for each workshop, know the details of each workshop and be able to share this information.

Help decorate the site and set up a decor for the opening night.

Promote social media workshops (Facebook and Instagram)

Prerequisites

Have completed a full-time post-secondary education and plan to return to full-time studies in September 2018 (be enrolled in the following fields: Technical or university degree in the arts, communications, Event or administration, management of cultural organizations; textile construction; arts; events; translation; study in the field of information and communications technology or other related training. ) and be 30 years of age or younger.

3. Programming Assistant

Function

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the student will be responsible for managing the activities and managing the volunteers. Writing, editing and translating all activities. Track activities and answer questions from participants and collaborators. Promote the festival to our partners and members. Preparation, organization and animation of children’s activities. In close collaboration with the general management, the artistic direction and the direction of the operations, you will have more precisely to assume the tasks below:

TASKS

Plan and coordinate all activities that will take place during the festival.

Inventory, purchase and organize materials for each workshop

Coordinate volunteers with children’s activities and other programming activities

Write and translate inviting texts for each activity offered during the festival

Follow up with the external resources involved in each activity

Promote activities on social media (Facebook and Instagram)

Prerequisites

Have completed a full-time post-secondary education and plan to return to full-time studies in September 2018 (be enrolled in the following fields: Technical or university degree in the arts, communications, Event or administration, management of cultural organizations; textile construction; arts; events; translation; study in the field of information and communications technology or other related training. ) and be 30 years of age or younger.
