Julie Biron first obtained a bachelor’s degree in public communications in 1997, followed by a bachelor’s degree in visual and media arts in 2001. However, it is during a one-year stay at the École supérieure d’art d’Aix-en-Provence that she slowly became interested in the textile arts, a field in which she is passionately evolving ever since.
During the last 15 years, Julie has developed her artistic practice. Halfway between exploration and the utilitarianism of objects, she teaches the numerous possibilities of this artistic field using ancestral techniques such as felting, weaving, spinning and knitting. Motivated by her passion for transferring her knowledge, Julie has developed a learning framework and workshops where practice is greatly simplified to give free rein to the creativity and the intuition of participants. The results are absolutely stunning despite the rigorous techniques that are required by certain disciplines, such as weaving, spinning, etc.
