Julie Biron first obtained a Bachelor in Public Communications in 1997, followed by a Bachelor in Visual Arts and Media Relations in 2001. However, it is during a one-year stay at the “École supérieure d’art, Aix-en-Provence (2000-2001), that she slowly moved towards the textile arts where she is passionately evolving ever since.
During the last 15 years, Julie has developed her artistic practice and her work in fine arts. Halfway between exploration and the utilitarianism of objects, she teaches the numerous possibilities starting with ancestral techniques such as felting, weaving, spinning and knitting. Motivated by her passion to transfer her knowledge, Julie developed a learning framework and workshops, where the learning is greatly simplified to give free rein to the creativity and the intuition of participants. The results are absolutely stunning, not withstanding the rigorous techniques that are required by certain disciplines, such as weaving, spinning, etc.
